Using Wireless Headphones (Client Version)

If you are planning to use wireless headphones for your upcoming online sessions, it may be helpful to let your therapist know.

Most brands of wireless headphones do not support a therapeutic tool called ‘auditory bilateral stimulation (auditory BLS)’.

Your therapist may want the option to use this tool during your sessions.

If your therapist DOESN’T want to have the option to use auditory BLS during your session then you can continue to use your wireless headphones with your PC/Mac/tablet or phone without any additional steps

If your therapist DOES want to have the option to use auditory BLS during your session then it may be simpler to use a pair of wired headphones that will work with any device. However if you only have wireless headphones available then see the relevant section below:

You will be using wireless headphones with a PC/Mac (and your therapist would like the option to use auditory BLS) #

  • You will need select a different microphone to the one that is built into their wireless headphones during the ‘Pre-session Setup’ (either an external mic or the mic built into your PC/Mac)
  • Once you make this change your wireless headphones will deliver auditory BLS correctly

  • Wireless headphones are currently NOT compatible with auditory BLS on Apple iPad/iPhone
  • We recommend you use wired headphones
  • If wired headphones are not available, let your therapist know and they will be able to use alternative therapeutic tools during your sessions
